Law Practice - Mr. Wilson is a shareholder in the law firm of Babcock Scott & Babcock. Mr. Wilson's practice is concentrated on construction law & litigation (large commercial, industrial, highways). He has represented owners, architects and engineers, general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers. He has received a BV rating by the Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory. He has been named as one of Utah's Legal Elite Lawyers in the area of Construction Law by Utah Business Magazine and one of the Mountain States Rising Stars in Construction Law by SuperLawyers Magazine.

Construction Background - Prior to practicing construction law Mr. Wilson was a member of the construction industry. In fact, he has been involved with the construction industry most of his life working his way through the ranks and ultimately managing $20 million+ projects. His experience in construction ranges from trade work to project management and from residential to complex commercial projects. His broad range of practical construction experience has included various projects found on Intermountain Contractors yearly list of the top construction projects. His broad range of construction experience has required him to work with contractors, architects, owners, developers, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, city planners, inspectors and others in their various trades.

Education - Mr. Wilson received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah. He received his juris doctor degree from Washburn University, Topeka, Kansas. While in law school he was employed by the Office of Chief Counsel for the Kansas Department of Transportation where he dealt with various issues surrounding intelligent transportation systems and highway & bridge construction contracting.

Admissions - Mr. Wilson is licensed in Colorado, Utah, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Federal Claims.

Professional Association Involvement - Mr. Wilson is currently a member of the American Bar Association’s Forum on the Construction Industry and Section of Environment, Energy and Resources and a member of the Utah State Bar Sections for Construction Law and Energy, Natural Resources and Environmental Law. Mr. Wilson currently is the Chair-Elect to the Utah State Bar's Construction Law Section. He is also actively involved with several trade associations related to the construction industry, such as the Associated General Contractors, American Society of Professional Estimators, Associated Builders and Contractors, American Public Works Association, Utah Society of Professional Engineers and the Utah Steel Fabricators Association.
